How can trigonometric functions and right triangles improve living conditions for society?

  1. Trigonometric functions and right triangles can definitely improve the living conditions of society. Right triangles are triangles that have a 90-degree angle. For one if we didn’t have right triangles then many wonderful inventions would not have been possible. For example the chair, table, and even your bathroom were most likely created through the use of right triangles. You need the right triangles to build just about every thing in today’s society. There is no question that we are going to need the right triangles to continue to invent and improve our lives. Trigonometric functions such as sin, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant and cotangent can also improve the living conditions of society. Trigonometric functions can be used to find the lengths of sides and degree of angles when you don’t have the equipment to do it manually. Another example is how Tidal Experts and Meteorologists use sin waves to help predict waves and find out if there is a big one coming to crush a city on the coast. Trigonometric functions and right triangles are very important in improving the living conditions of society today.

  2. Right triangles play a big role in the society that we live in today. A right triangle is a triangle with a 90 degree angle. You can almost find a right triangle in anything you look at. They are found in things we use daily, such as chairs, tables, vehicles and many other objects. As you can see they are valid to everyday life. Without the usage of right triangles inventions and discoveries made over the past years would not have been possible. Sin, cosine, tangent, cosecant, secant and cotangent are all examples of trigonometric functions. They can be used to find lengths of unknown sides and degrees of an angle. To build things you need to know what a right triangle is and what trigonometric functions are necessary to use. By continuing to use these today’s society will only improve and create amazing things!

  3. Trigonometric functions and right triangles are used everywhere in society. Architects build some amazing buildings but they need to know how to keep it stable and not collapse. They ensure that their buildings are going to last if they use simple right angles. Without all the right calculations, the building would fall. Painting a house or climbing on the top of a roof is another instance of when the right triangles are used. You need to know what size ladder to buy to reach the top of the roof or to reach the areas that are being painted. The right triangle assists us in everyday life and it’s very helpful. Countless things are made up using trigonometric functions and right triangles like making windows, navigating a boat, creating roads, and so many others. If we didn’t know the calculations, like a² + b²=c², we would be guessing and we could be wrong. Trigonometric functions just further define a right triangle. I think that we could use these functions to improve our lives in the future. We could make greater things to improve our lives with our knowledge of these types of functions.

  4. There are many uses in trigonometric functions and right angles in todays society as well in the past and future. Many people use it in constuction, sports, carpentry, etc. Its in our everyday lives, you may not know it but it is. Like brushing your teeth or opening a door. There are anlges in everything you do. But to find these angles you need the trigonometric functions to help you. People even use these trig functions to help them with a new invention or maybe just like figureing out how tall that biulding is. It improves society in many ways and that's just barely the beggining. Without these ideas and tools it would be impossible.

  5. Right triangles have improved society in a variety of ways, over a long period of time. One big way it helped was that it helped roofs of different things have a better structure than a flat roof. Flat roofs are esier to wear due to weather and other things. A right triangle roof gave better support against the elements. Another way it has helped is less physical and more mental, it helped mathmaticians develop laws and new equasions. This could've contributed to less complicated problems for geometry, which led to more and more advanced problems in pre-calc and calulus. In other words it made it esier for kids to learn math. Right triangles have changed math in many ways. Trigonometric functions also have helped math. They made it a lot esier to understand calculus and triangles. Both trigonometric functions and right triangles have contributed a lot to mathmaticians and the way we understand things today.

  6. Right Triangles and trigonometric functions are found everywhere. I don’t really think society can function without them, I think everything would most likely be side ways. Mathematics is a universal language and like triangles a person can find them just about anywhere. When I bring God into this, I think of when he never leaves anything undone. Bringing up the pythagrium thorium, the measurements and angles cant be found if the there is no knowledge of the sided or legs. Even tangent, cosine, sine, cosecant, cotangent, secant all helped society through out history; their all part of trigonometric functions. The trigonometry is still used, and still valued for many more reason and it can also be explored more.

  7. Although talking about how right angles are everywhere around us and do indeed make many structures, vehicles, and such possible I’d just like to reiterate on that topic. The foundation for such buildings as sky-scrapers must be as strong as possible. There is no room for error when working with something that large. And what better way to have a strong foundation than to go straight up? If the building leans too far to one side then it’s all going to come crashing down. As for the trigonometric functions, not everything in our world is definite. The trigonometric functions like sine, cosine, tangent, cotangent, secant and cosecant give us the ability to take what we know and find out more about the unknown. Lengths, angles, heights, all that go into any type of architecture. It’s been proven that a triangle is a very strong shape, the very reason why many bridges have triangles throughout to support them. When beams cross, they’ll often make a 90° angle and complete a triangle when the beam meets with the structure. If the triangle is the strongest shape we can make, why not use it as much as possible? It benefits our society greatly.

  8. Trigonometric functions and right triangles can help us live life. We use right triangles in construction to build the buildings that we use in our everyday life. In almost all of the objects we use or see has at least a 90 degree angle like. If right triangles weren’t used in the objects that we use, then everything would be odd shaped and wont really work. Bridges is a good example of a right triangle. In order for the bridge to support cars, the supporters are in triangles because it can hold more weight. Trigonometric functions can help us in our society because it helps us figure out how tall things are and how things work. We use trigonometric functions in out everyday life. Brushing your hair, sitting down standing up is a trig function because we do it over and over. We can use trig functions and right triangles to invent things or to measure how big or small things are. No matter what we will always use trig functions and right triangles in our life.

  9. i think that God gave us these gifts or these functions for us to use in our lives. Im pretty sure that God use them to make the world like the function to make a tree stand at a right angle or make a orange round. We use them in everyday life, like we use a car that has circles and right angels and trigonmetry is use to make the car. The building that you stand inn and has right angels and the people who did it used trigonomtry to use this. God gave us theses gifts and we should use it.

  10. Trigonometric functions and right triangles help society with a majority of what has been created and invented from present day to hundreds and hundreds of years ago. Right triangles are used to build building. For example the tallest building in the world probably needed a lot of calculations and right triangles for it to stand stably and efficiently. Just recently it was finished; therefore we as humans are lunging forward with improvements. Taller buildings equal more jobs for more people. Considering that this tall building is located in a very populated place, living conditions are improved just from the concept of right triangles and trigonometric functions. This building will provide home for many people as well. I am sure many more building are being built. Trigonometric functions such as sin, cosine, tangent, secant, cosecant and cotangent are also used to find certain lengths, rotations and sides of many different things. The simple things such as chairs, tables, cars, houses and everyday uses can be related to trig functions; those are of the past and have help society immensely. Transportation in the air is definitely helped out with trigonometric functions. Heart beats, chemo therapy all have trig functions involved. We can only grow from new ideas to improve our world with right triangles and trigonometric functions. Our ideas need to be circulated to improve our society even more.

  11. Math is all around us. We see angles and linear lines everywhere in the world. The most common we see of angles is 90 degrees. 90 degrees is on your computer screen, on your phone, even in on your credit card. They are just everywhere and anywhere in the world. 90 degrees helps us build buildings and houses. God gave us the 90 degrees so that this could be possible. God wanted us to be safe and warm in our houses. He wanted us to be able to build items that will entertain us, like books and an iPod. Having 90 degrees and trigonometric functions also improves our society; because we can build new gadgets that help a village that has no water system. They also help us interact with other countries because math is the universal language, so 90 degrees and trigonometric functions help build buildings and interact with others.

  12. The right triangles and triganomic functions are used throughout society. Right triangles are on chairs tables and curbs and many other things we need to know the 90 degree and the right triangles around us. Also if you want to pursue something as in Architect or artist or anything we need to see the other triangles the “right triangles” of degrees of the sun and such. Also trig functions are easier ways to find sides we don’t know we can find sides of buildings and slope of mountain or how to even land a plane. Tri functions are not just made up words or random words at that but have a purpose to build everyday things, simple things. Right triangle the triangle with 90 degree is everywhere next time you see a straight side of something connecting to another side at a 90 degree angle you know that object was made with a right triangle and the trig functions. So society has been way more than just a math problem but a way to make life! A better advanced place.

  13. Right angles and trig functions can imply a ton of things. What comes to mind is how angles make straight lines bent. So, the way I see it is that if people only thought linear, or without angles, then no one could be where they are today. Take for example the great Albert Einstein, he failed at the making the light bulb time after time. However, he didn’t just think of one way to make a light bulb, he bent his linear way of thinking and tried many other ways until he finally got it right. If no one was able to keep from thinking linear, everyone would give up after their first try at something. This goes as far back as Adam and Eve. After they sinned, Adam was burdened with having to work around weeds that sprouted up in the ground. He probably tried many ways to handle the weeds, and if he only tried one way, there would be no farms. If there were no farms, no one could grow food so everyone would be dead. Angles are not only important in buildings and architecture, but in the way humans think and understand things.

  14. Right triangle and trigonomic functions are important because we see and use them both in everyday life. Take a right triangle for example right triangles can be found anywhere. Like a bedroom there are right triangles in dressers, picture frames, book shelves. So as you can see they are every where you look. Right triangles could help improve society because they could help people think and use there brian in a sense. Also they can be used to invent things to help people. Right triangles can help people be more aware of how they are used in everyday life. Trigonomic functions and improve society by coming up with new ideas or inventions(how to build or make something) such as building thing like hospiitals, churches, chairs, desks, bathtubs, and much more. So both of these can be applied and used to help improve today society.

  15. In the world we live in today triangles of all sorts are used every day. The types of triangles that make the world work very well together are 30-60-90 triangles and 45-45-90 triangles. Many of these triangles help us understand how things work in the world. The triangles that are in the world are 90 degrees. SOH CAH TOA definitely helps in making all of this possible. If we didn’t have any of these trigonomic functions, we wouldn’t have things we have today. Many of these possibilities are possible such as mathematics, architecture, and physics. If we didn’t have any of this, we wouldn’t understand how anything worked. The types of triangles definitely help us understand things in the world and help make this world a better place. We should learn to love and understand the world together through the wonders of trigonomic functions.
