Pre-Lims EQ Choice #2

If f(x) is human life and x is time, what is

  1. Since time is already infinite, who knows what will happen as it stretches on to, well, infinity. In accordance to humans/humanity as a whole, who can read the future anyway? I can’t be for sure about what will happen, but the main ones are basic and straightforward. The easiest is after awhile something will bring upon us an apocalyptic ending; the manner can be hundreds of ways at any given point in time. Another is that humans will never die out but will continue to press on forever, heading for the stars and exploring new frontiers. The last is that humans will be replaced by their own creation. This may be a bit abstract but we wouldn’t be surviving today if it wasn’t for the machines we’ve created, computers that have advanced, or anything used on a day to day basis. After awhile, perhaps our computers and machines will be so advanced they’ll become more efficient than our own bodies that designed them. Soon after that, the human brain, a living supercomputer, would turn obsolete for a mechanical one. These are all just theories but the main point for what will happen to humans is up to us, what we encounter, and God himself.

  2. The answer to this function is infinity. I believe that this statement is quite true. Everyone has eternal life but it depends on who we chose to serve during this life on Earth that determines where we go after. Each individual has a destination to heaven or hell for eternity. Once we die time does not exist as we are only slaves to time in this universe, for “a day to God is like a thousand years and a thousand year is like a day”. However, if the statement up above is talking about human life as a whole on Earth the answer is not infinity. According to the Bible, there will be an end to this Earth and the human life like we know it today will not exist. God will make another place where the saved will live forever. “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea” (Revelations 21:1). We will not be like the “Humans” we are today as we will not be tainted by sin anymore, “Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is” (1 John 3:2).

  3. If f(x) is human life and x is time then limit, to me, would have an end; the limit wouldn’t exist. Therefore its infinity. The time that is given to a human being is precious; the one life that is given and including the time should be put to good use, live life to the fullest. No one, no human, can for tell the future they don’t know what will happen next or when the “end” is going to roll up. Then again, is the individual is a Christian, were does religion or god come in. For a strong believing Christian, they may come to agree that may the equation could be: f(x) is human life and x is God…then the limit would not exist either; eternal life in other words. With god in a person life, a Christian would believe that they wouldn’t, so much, have to worry about a limit to their eternal life. Either way there is no limit to life, with god/religion or not, “the best thing in life is life” and should not be taken for granted.

  4. If f(x) is human life and x is time, then when the limit approaches infinity, human life has infinite amount of time. I agree and disagree with this equation. A person can not have infinite time in human life. For one to have infinite life, one must accept Jesus. No person can has infinite human life alone. But when God and Jesus get involved one can have infinite life. They choose to have eternal life with their eternal father. Only then can one achieve infinite life. The equation ,f(x)= ?, can make sense if you plug Jesus in the equation. Then the limit will approach infinity. But without Jesus in the equation the limit will not exist, your life will no longer exist.

  5. If f(x) is human life and x is time, what is the limit of f(x) as x approaches infinity equal? This is a tricky question to respond to because you have to look closely at the information and facts. We as human beings of the earth are not infinite. Our lifetime is measurable and we do have an end to our lives. Therefore the equation, the limit of f(x) as x approaches infinity =?, would appear not to exist due to these facts. But, we as Christians understand that there is only one person that can make this equation true: Jesus Christ. The limit of f(x) as x approaches infinity =Jesus! This is because Jesus came into this world as a human and as God. And God is infinite because he is the beginning and the end and he is all.

  6. When I first look at the question my first thought in terms of math was that it isn’t possible or can’t exist. Human life and infinity would hint at immortality. Our human lives on this earth will not last forever in fact it is just the opposite, our life would be so short in terms of infinity. So instead of one divided by zero equaling infinity, this as human life isn’t possible. We can’t live for infinity. But if we change the equation and have one divided by infinity we get to a time so sort that is would have to be rounded to zero. This represents human life more. But there is more to human life than just time. Each human is different so each equation of f(x) for human life would be different. So there wouldn’t be a solid equation for f(x) to equation human life. To put something abstract like a human personality into an equation that equals human life is not possible. We could create an equation that shows the basics of humans but it wouldn’t be true for everyone or every situation. God didn’t create us so we could be put into a series of numbers to equal one thing. But if the question is talking about spiritual life of a human whether they were found Christ or not, it would be different. As spiritual beings we will live on forever. So time or x would be regardless once we die. X wouldn’t matter. If somehow we were able to create an equation that could equal our spiritual life once we were born to infinity, I think the equation would not really change. Humans change when they are kids and teen and even when we become adults. The equation could be very complex or difficult to us (not God he would understand it no matter what) to solve or even understand it. Then when we die physically our spiritual life equation would level out. It would be the same for infinity. If we come to God than our equation would equal a good life and if we fell to Satan than the equation would lead to suffering for infinity, this is what I would think the equation would equal to once we die physically but our spirit and soul is still living, to put our human life on Earth in an equation is what I would call not possible to get a solid equation. But it is possible to make an equation that could fit our new lives when we die and our spiritual life continues for infinity.

  7. If x approaches infinity and the function equals human life, then the answer is infinity. There isn’t a certain answer to the span of your life. It makes sense to have an infinite answer. It’s not like we know when life ends for anybody so infinity is the best suitable answer. The answer will be practically different for each and every human being. We will all have different lives and different life spans. You could look at it in a different way too. It could also come up to the opportunities we have in life. If we have all the time in the world during our lives then our chances at going what we want is infinite. Either way you look at it, the answer comes out to infinity.

  8. If f(x) is human life and x is time as the limit goes to eternity, I believe that we as humans should have a sense of what will happen after our time on earth is up. I see our eternity as something that we need to be able to see as soon as we make the decision to accept God, or to not accept him. I think that we need to have our eternity in our mind and for others lives. I believe that we really need to have Christ in our life so that when the time comes we will not have to spend eternity in a bad place. We also need to see that we are going to spend eternity with our Lord and Savior. We also know that God is something that we all have God in our life whether we want him or not. I also see that we need to make our life on earth the best it can possibly be, we need to do everything for God and with God. Our life and time on earth impacts where we will spend eternity, God gave us free will and we find it hard to even find God. He really does wish that we spend eternity with him, but he need us to help especially with getting our brothers and sisters toward heaven. Life is something that God has given us, and I believe that we all need to live life to our fullest for God that way we can spend eternity with God.

  9. The answer to the function is infinity. To me this function acts as the answer that God wants us all to reach. He wants us to reach his level and forever be with him in heaven. The function f(x) is life and in life we work through situations and other things to work to finish off the equation just like we do in a math problem to work it out and find the answer. The choices we make in life determine how the function is answered and how we would like our answer to be. I believe that a majority of people would like to receive eternal life but it all depends on choices. The fact that the whole equation depends on the f(x) or life is perfect and can relate to the fact that our life depends on eternal life. Just like an equation needs certain parts, we too need certain parts. The limit needs to approach something to exist just like humans need a purpose and out purpose is to reach God. In order for the function to work, we need God and Jesus. I believe if God were to give us a hint at what he wants for us, he would give each and everyone of us this equation and say “Take a hint.”
